OIC Special Envoy holds talks with Pakistani officials on Afghanistan
The Deputy and Special Representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Afghanistan held discussions with Pakistani officials regarding Afghanistan’s current situation.
In a statement, the OIC reported that Tariq Ali Bakhit, the Deputy and Special Representative for Afghanistan, met with Amina Baloch, Deputy Foreign Minister of Pakistan, and Ahmad Naseem Warraich, Deputy Minister for Afghanistan Affairs, in Islamabad.
During the meeting, both sides expressed shared perspectives on various issues related to Afghanistan, including political, economic, and humanitarian concerns.
They emphasized the need for ongoing coordination, consultation, and cooperation to promote stability and progress in Afghanistan.
Tariq Ali Bakhit also exchanged views with Ahmad Naseem Warraich on the potential to enhance international meetings focused on engaging with Afghanistan and strengthening the platforms for such engagements.
According to the source, the OIC Deputy emphasized the importance of supporting Afghanistan’s humanitarian trust fund (AHTF), which is backed by the Islamic Development Bank (ISDB), to bolster humanitarian aid efforts.
