'Stop the Steal' movement has 'reemerged in force' ahead of 2024 election: CNN
Should former President Donald Trump come up short in the 2024 presidential election, he has an army of MAGA activists who have nonetheless been preparing to undermine the results and try to reinstall him in power.
CNN reports that the "Stop the Steal" movement "has reemerged in force" ahead of the 2024 election and that its leaders have created "a step-by-step guide to undermine the results if he falls short again."
According to CNN, the plans include "challenging results in court, pressuring lawmakers to block election certification, and encouraging protests – culminating on January 6, 2025, the day Congress will once again certify the results."
However, it's unclear at this time why any of these challenges would work in 2024 when they all failed four years ago.

A second attempt at disrupting the election certification on January 6th seems particularly unlikely to succeed given that far more security resources and personnel are likely to be deployed at the Capitol this time around.
Nonetheless, CNN quotes Ivan Raiklin, a former Green Beret and current MAGA political operative, as predicting fireworks on January 6th.
“I have a plan and strategy,” he said earlier this month. “And then January 6th is going to be pretty fun.”
Marc Harris, a former investigator for the January 6th House Select Committee, tells CNN that he's worried that, even with increased protections in place, the "Stop the Steal" movement may have some unanticipated tricks up its sleeve.
“Those looking to overturn the election are way ahead of where they were in 2020,” he said. “But on the flip side, the pro-democracy defenders are also more prepared. How that shakes out is not clear to me.”
