1. The Venetian, Macau
First of all, this is not a top, we haven’t made any research to check stats, showing which casino is more popular or more famous. It’s our team’s subjective choice, and in no particular order. If you’re a real player, and maybe even more of a nomad one, you’re surely up for a trip to Macao sometime in your future. Inspired by its sister property in Las Vegas, The Venetian Macau is the largest casino in the world, a glorious tribute to the city of Venice. With a surface which makes it resemble a small city, Covering a huge, it is basically designed to take you on a trip to Venice’s main landmarks, such as the St. Mark’s Square or the Grand Canal.
Once you enter the casino, you’ll be in for almost a religious experience. In total awe, you’ll admire its high ceilings painted like the serene sky, with lavishing chandeliers, marble columns, and creative artwork that brings you to an opulent Italian Renaissance palace.
2. Casino de Monte-Carlo, Monaco
Located in the glamorous Monaco, the Casino de Monte-Carlo is one of the oldest and most luxurious casinos in the world. Built in 1863, its architecture is a stunning example of the popular Belle Époque style, combining Baroque and Beaux-Arts influences. Designed by architect Charles Garnier (who is responsible for another masterpiece, which is the Paris Opera House) the casino boasts with frescoes and beautiful stained glass.
In case you aren’t familiar with this piece of casual trivia, Casino de Monte Carlo is also the filming scene of the Casino Royale, one of the more recent James Bond movie.
3. Marina Bay Sands, Singapore
If you’re looking for more futuristic destinations, you’ve got plenty of choices there too. Starting with Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, which is recognized worldwide for its futuristic design and iconic silhouette (tourists are loving to take pictures with the Marina on the background!).
The resort consists of 3 massive towers, each with 55 floors, ending with a huge sky park on top, shaped like a surfboard. This design element, known as the “SkyPark,” connects all three towers and provides truly breathtaking views of the city and of the bay.
Inside, the casino is sleek and modern, featuring a majestic atrium, elements of contemporary art and fancy installations, and really top notch gaming facilities. The resort’s innovative design, created by architect Moshe Safdie, makes it one of the most photographed buildings in the world.
4. Sun City Resort, South Africa
South Africa deserved its own Las Vegas and oh, it’s really got one. The architecture of this impressive resort is meant to blend the natural beauty of the surroundings and cultural heritage of Africa, you’ll see both traditional symbols and modern levels of luxury and glamour. The casino itself features hugegaming areas, extravagant chandeliers, and elegant interiors adorned with African artwork and sculptures.
One of its main attractions is the “Lost City,” an entertainment complex that resembles an ancient African palace, complete with ruins, waterfalls, and complex architecture. The resort’s landscape, with its tropical gardens and artificial lagoons, creates a very special atmosphere and makes it stand out among other casinos.
5. Casino Baden-Baden, Germany
Baden Baden is one of the veterans, among the very oldest casinos in Europe. Located in Germany, the casino is known for its classic elegance and historically inspired charm. Situated in the Black Forest region, it has been a destination for royalty and aristocrats since the 19th century. Who wouldn’t want to walk the steps of royalty? The casino is housed in a neoclassical building, and its interiors are inspired by the grand palaces of France, with plenty of gold details, and velvet draperies.
The gaming rooms are building up a more intimate and exclusivist style, each is uniquely decorated, inspired by different historical stages.
