Columbia girls soccer rolls back to Class AA final
LATHAM, NY (NEWS10) -- Since winning the Section ii Class AA title last year, the Columbia girls soccer team has continued it's winning ways. They were unbeaten in the regular season, heading into sectionals as the top-seed, ranked second in the state. The Blue Devils played the fifth-seeded Ballston Spa Scotties Wednesday night at Shaker High School with a chance to get back to the section title game.
The Blue Devils led 1-0 at the half thanks to a goal from Molly Simmons. Simmons added another in the second half, followed by a header from Allison Hutton. Columbia cruised back to the Section 2 Class AA title game with a 3-0 win.
The Blue Devils will play Niskayuna for the title for the second year in a row, looking for their third straight title, at 6:00 PM on Saturday at Stillwater High School.
