CENTCOM: More than 30 ISIS members killed in Syria
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has reported airstrikes on several ISIS targets in Syria, stating that at least 35 ISIS members were killed as a result of these attacks.
According to CENTCOM’s announcement on Wednesday, October 30, the operations took place on Monday night, targeting multiple ISIS hideouts and camps in the Syrian desert.
The statement from the command center emphasized that no civilians were harmed in Monday night’s strikes and that 35 ISIS members, including commanders, were killed.
CENTCOM did not disclose details regarding the identities of the ISIS commanders targeted in the strike. However, it claimed that, following this attack, ISIS has lost significant capabilities for planning, organizing, and executing attacks against civilians.
These recent airstrikes mark a continued effort by the U.S. to dismantle ISIS operations in the region, targeting both strategic locations and leadership figures. The mission highlights CENTCOM’s ongoing commitment to counter-terrorism while minimizing civilian casualties in conflict zones.
ISIS, also known as the Islamic State, has maintained a presence in parts of Syria and Iraq despite significant losses in recent years.
The group’s goal has been to establish an extremist state, using violence and terror to destabilize the region. Although weakened by international military efforts, ISIS still operates in remote areas and maintains underground networks, posing an ongoing threat to stability in the Middle East.
Their tactics include sporadic attacks on civilian populations and security forces, aiming to spread fear and demonstrate their continued presence.
These recent efforts by the U.S. aim to curb ISIS’s influence and prevent the organization from re-emerging as a significant threat in the region.
