World Series Game 5 Thread: Dodgers vs. Yankees, 8:08 PM
Could the offseason be just one game away? Let’s hope so. We all want to talk about the Mets’ pursuit of Juan Soto. The Yankees showed some life on Tuesday night when they beat the Dodgers 11-4 at Yankee Stadium. Unfortunately, the talk of the night was a couple of idiot Yankees fans who crossed the line when they tried to rip a ball out of Mookie Betts‘s glove. The fans were eventually removed from the stadium and cannot return tonight.
In their 11-run outburst on Tuesday, the Yankees were led by home runs from Anthony Volpe, Austin Wells, and Gleyber Torres. Volpe’s homer was a grand slam, the sixth of the current postseason, setting a new record. Mark Vientos and Francisco Lindor each hit a grand slam for the Mets during their postseason run this year.
The Yankees will hope Gerrit Cole is good enough to end them back to LA for Game 6 on Friday.
