Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are reuniting on the small screen in Peacock’s “Paris and Nicole: The Encore,” slated for December 12. The iconic besties rose to fame as OGs of the reality genre, starring in Fox’s “The Simple Life” as they traveled the country performing low-paying jobs as cleaners, farmhands, fast food workers, and camp counselors. “The Simple Life” premiered on December 2, 2003 and ran for five seasons (three on Fox and two on E!). The series was originally proposed to Paris and her sister Nicky Hilton, but when Nicky proved camera shy, Paris’ BFF Nicole was brought into the fold. The show was a hit with fans and even some critics were smitten, with a Rotten Tomatoes critics consensus stating, “‘The Simple Life’ is an incredibly vapid show, but there is no denying that Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are downright entertaining.” The show received Fox’s Innovator of Reality Television Award at the 2009 Fox Reality Awards.
