How to watch votes being counted on Election Day in Texas
AUSTIN (KXAN) — Following a Texas law passed in 2021, people were granted access to watch election workers count votes.
The law requires any county with more than 100,000 residents to have video surveillance in all areas where ballots are stored, which is then available to be streamed online.
It also requires the footage to be held until the end of the calendar year or until an election contest filed in the county has been resolved.
The live streams for Travis County election workers are on the Travis County Clerk’s website.
Live streams for Williamson County are available on the election live streams website.
Hays County also has a live stream on the Hays County elections page. Scroll down to the “Live Video Stream” section.
To find a live stream of votes being tabulated in another county, visit the county’s elections department website and search for a link to an election live stream.
