Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie Are Opera Impresarios Now
Don’t miss your chance to see Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie live at Vulture Festival, November 16-17 in Los Angeles. Get tickets here before they sell out!
Twenty-one years after they made legendary television by mildly terrorizing a small town in Arkansas on The Simple Life, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are reuniting for a three-episode miniseries, and it isn’t entirely what you’d think it would be. After four seasons of taking on blue-collar jobs (and one season of being professional interns), Paris & Nicole: The Encore will follow Hilton and Richie as they “try to produce a once-in-a-lifetime operatic performance based on their self-coined phrase, ‘Sanasa.’” It premieres December 12 on Peacock.
“Sanasa,” for those who have managed to wash the memory of it out of their ears over the past two decades, is a very catchy, stupid song the duo invented on season three that just goes, “Sanasa, sanasa, sanasa-sa sanasa” over and over again until they either get bored of it or are forced to stop. An entire “Sanasa” opera totally aligns with Hilton’s trollish sense of humor and Richie’s honest-to-goodness aptitude for musical comedy. A new teaser for the three-part reunion shows the two of them auditioning an operatic soprano and agreeing that “we’re really good at this.”
Vulture readers and Paris & Nicole fans in the Los Angeles area can get a sneak-peek preview of The Encore at a live reunion with the duo themselves at this year’s Vulture Festival on November 17. Love it.
