Local father and son transform DeLorean into 'Back to the Future' time machine
GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) - An iconic car in the Capital Region is causing people to say “Great Scott!” On Sunday, NEWS10's Cassie Hudson will introduce you to the local father and son who spent the past year recreating a piece of movie history.
The rear-engine, two-door 1981 DeLorean arrived at Bryan Cady's Guilderland home August of last year. Right away, Cady and his 16-year-old son, Connor, got to work turning the DeLorean into the vehicle made famous in "Back to the Future."
From zip ties to airplane parts, they've sourced the car additions from a variety of different places. The car has been coined the "518 Time Machine." The duo said it's about 95% complete.
The 518 Time Machine is available for appearances, car shows and local events.
