Rays Tank: Longtime Rays prospect and coach Craig Albernaz a finalist for manager jobs
Craig Albernaz, a long time Rays minor league catcher from 2006 - 2013 and current bench coach of the Cleveland Guardians, is a candidate for manager at two clubs this off-season.

Before reaching the majors, Albernaz was a coach in the Rays minor league system starting in 2015, including manager of the Low-A side in 2017, High-A in 2019, and as a coordinator system wide in 2019.
The Giants hired Albernaz as their bullpen coach ahead of the 2020 season, and he became Cleveland’s bench coach for the 2024 season.
