'Don't be clever': GOP lawmaker snaps at CNN host mid-fact check
CNN International host Christiane Amanpour clashed with Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) after the Republican lawmaker suggested Americans did not support the right to have an abortion.
During a Wednesday interview, Crenshaw argued that many European countries did not permit abortions past 12 weeks of pregnancy.
"Only here do we have these extreme abortion measures that Democrats support, and I think people should understand what the difference is," Crenshaw said.
"I mean, as you know, the majority of Americans are pro their rights under Roe v. Wade, but let's just move on," Amanpour noted.
"No, don't move on from that," Crenshaw demanded. "Don't be clever about it."
"I'm not being clever, and I'm not debating," Amanpour remarked.
"When people are asked, do you support Roe v. Wade, they're not really sure what they're supporting," the Republican lawmaker claimed. "The truth is, and you know this from Pew Research, that 60, 70% of people do not agree with abortion past 12 weeks."

Crenshaw insisted Republicans were "not the crazy ones here."
"Nobody's talking about crazy," Amanpour replied. "I'm saying they support Roe v. Wade."
"Let us move on, because that is a fact," she added.
