Olivia Rodrigo Wears Gutsy Minidress With Translucent Amina Muaddi PVC Wedges on ‘The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon’
Olivia Rodrigo got fiery in a red dress and strappy wedge sandals while appearing on “The Tonight Show.”
Boasting a dark red design, the shoes were likely Amina Muaddi‘s Lupita 95mm Glass PVC Wedge in the color “Transparent.” The shoes featured a clear PVC strap in the upper region, and while the back the silhouette couldn’t be seen fully, it’s likely based on Rodriguo’s previous preferences and love of shoes with towering height that the back of the sandals were completed by a wedge heel ranging between 3-to-4 inches in height.
The wedges, which Karol G recently wore in yellow to the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, are available at Saks Fifth Avenue for $1,105.
Rodrigo also wore a fitted red dress from Ludovic de Saint Sern’s BDSM Ballet collection that was characterized by its layers and slim design. While on the show, the artist discussed her fall while performing on her GUTS World Tour earlier this month in Melbourne, Australia.
“It was really scary,” Rodrigo told Fallon, adding, “Watching the video back is pretty terrifying. I mean the show must go on, that’s showbiz baby. I was thinking about my family and my heritage and my relatives and I fell and I was like all shaken up. I went to the hospital after. Nothing happened but they just wanted to make sure I didn’t have a concussion,” she explained to the host.
Strappy sandals have been around for decades, dating back to the early 1900s and going through many variations over the years. Strappy sandals can come in many different forms, including peep-toe designs, and have been praised for their versatility and ability to work well with a variety of outfits.
Many brands such as Chanel, Stuart Weitzman and Christian Louboutin carry strappy sandals as a part of their footwear lineup, offering the style in many different iterations. Rodrigo, herself, has opted for a number of notable footwear designers over the years including Chanel, Gucci and more, but she also prefers platform boots within her wardrobe as well.
