Pizza Cottage adds tavern to renovated Powell location
POWELL, Ohio (WCMH) -- Pizza Cottage, a local chain dating to 1972, has remodeled one of its central Ohio restaurants to include an in-house tavern with an outdoor patio for live music.
The Lancaster-based chain is now welcoming customers to the renovated location at 8753 Owenfield Dr. in Powell after a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 17. Briefly closed earlier this summer to make way for the remodel, the restaurant's dining room now features new booth seating and can hold up to 70 guests.
The location's party and event room underwent the most dramatic change, now home to the Pizza Cottage's "Tipton Tavern." The tavern space is a full-service bar with seating for 42 that includes a live-music stage, connected to a covered patio that can hold up to 40.
"Our dining room and bar just got a major glow up," the Pizza Cottage had announced on social media. "Check out our revamped space and raise a glass to Tipton Tavern."
The Pizza Cottage opened the Powell location in 2021. Earlier this year, the brand opened its eleventh restaurant in the Mount Vernon area, and launched a Grove City eatery and a second Lancaster location in 2022.
Owned by Lancaster entrepreneur Larry Tipton, the Pizza Cottage was founded in 1972 and also operates restaurants in Newark, Pickerington, Zanesville, Circleville and Athens. Tipton also owns several Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar locations in Ohio and Arizona.
Pizza Cottage's Powell restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
