Power restored after outage affecting over 1,000 in Lafayette, including UL campus
UPDATE, 9:20 a.m.: LUS has confirmed that power has been restored to the affected area. The reason for the outage was not released.
ORIGINAL STORY: LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- A portion of Lafayette including the University of Louisiana campus and surrounding areas is without power this morning.
According to the a notice on the Lafayette Utilities System website, the outage affects 1,056 customers.
"An outage has been reported in the indicated area," the notice reads. "Please keep a safe distance from the crews while they are working to restore power."
The source of the power outage, shown on the map below, has not been released.
