My daughter has beautiful hair others would die for but I dread detangling it, a DIY 2-ingredient spray works wonders
A MOTHER confessed to struggling to brush her toddler’s hair despite routinely using a detangling spray.
She was delighted when other parents revealed the DIY haircare spray they use which is made from two budget-friendly ingredients.
Kaylee Dee shared a photo of her daughter’s waist-length curls on Facebook’s Family Lowdown Tips & Ideas group, which has over 1 million members.
“Any recommendations for a detangling spray for the world’s knottiest hair,” she wrote.
“The Asda spray is just not cutting it and I dread having to brush my 3-year-old’s hair every day.
“We use conditioner when it’s washed. Thank you.”
Hundreds of people liked the post and gushed about how “beautiful” her daughter’s hair looked.
“No advice sorry, just captivated with your daughter’s beautiful hair, hair envy here! All those gold and red tones, wow just wow,” one person wrote.
“I would die for my daughter to have this hair, beautiful,” another said.
“I have no advice but her hair is gorgeous,” a third chimed in.
“No help as my second also has the knottiest hair I’ve ever encountered and also has cute little ringlets/curls at the bottom like your girlie’s hair. Wanted to say, what a gorgeous colour of hair she has!! Absolutely stunning,” another added.
Amid the flood of commenters wowed by her daughter’s hair were several mums sharing the same DIY solution.
One mother said it worked “far better” than even pricey over-the-counter products.
“I just mix a blob of conditioner with boiling water in a spray bottle, give it a shake and leave to cool,” she wrote.
“Doesn’t leave my daughter’s hair greasy and is far better than anything else I’ve tried.
“She’s autistic and airbrushing is a major trigger for a meltdown, we don’t have that now.”
Another mum received lots of likes for commenting with the same idea.
“Genuinely thought it was a pic of my daughter,” she said.
“I just use normal conditioner to brush through or put some mixed with water in a spray bottle. It works just as well as all the expensive options.”
