X Factor finalist, 42, goes on run from cops after skipping court on drug charge with urgent hunt underway to arrest her
A FORMER X Factor finalist is on the run after skipping court on a drug charge.
Rachel Hylton, 42, who made the Series 5 final in 2008, failed to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on October 29.
Hylton was eliminated in week seven of the live shows on the X Factor[/caption]The promising songstress was charged with possessing cannabis resin – a Class B drug – at Crawley Police Station on October 13.
The mum-of-five, of Southgate, Crawley, provided no explanation for her absence from Tuesday’s hearing.
There is now a warrant out for her arrest without bail.
Prosecutor Jeremy King told the court: “She signed the charge sheet to appear today and nothing has been heard.”
Hylton performed Amy Winehouse‘s You Know I’m No Good in her audition for the ITV show.
She was mentored in the Over 25s category by Dannii Monogue.
During the competition she sang hits including Feeling Good and Rule The World.
Hylton was eliminated in week seven of the live shows losing out in the sing-off to JLS.
Alexandra Burke went on to win the fifth series of the talent television show.
