FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Happy Wednesday!
We've got another warm and very breezy day ahead of us, with the southwesterly wind sustained 5-15 MPH, and gusts close to 30. Those strong winds send temperatures near-records once again, with highs near 80. The record for today is 80, set back in 1927. We'll see a few mid-level clouds out, with lots of sunshine.
Then for Halloween on Thursday, we've got a cold front on the way. As it approaches, our pressure gradient tightens, which means it will get even windier. Expect gusts 30-40 MPH, especially for Thursday afternoon and evening. Additionally, that cold front brings us rain showers, and the potential for rumbles during the afternoon and evening. Unfortunately, timing will be right around trick-or-treat hours, so keep umbrellas handy, and listen closely for rumbles.
We clear up quickly and high pressure returns on Friday, leading to more sunshine, but cooler temperatures. Highs fall back near 60, which puts us near normal. We'll be much less breezy by then.
We'll warm back above normal this weekend, with highs in the lower 60s for Saturday, and lots of sunshine. A warm front lifts north Sunday, sending temps to near 70, and eventually bringing a few showers late Sunday into the start of the next workweek.
