12-year-old girl arrested, accused of making 'hit list,' authorities say
SULPHUR, La. (KLFY) -- A 12-year-old girl was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after allegedly making a "hit list," according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office.
According to a news release, the girl was charged with terrorizing-menacing and was booked into the parish juvenile detention center.
The sheriff's office said they were called to Leblanc Middle School in Sulphur at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday in reference to a student with a "hit list."
The sheriff's office said that during the investigation the girl admitted to making the list.
“We have zero tolerance when it comes to threatening behavior towards or at our schools,” Sheriff Stitch Guillory said in the news release. “Whether it is said in anger or as a joke, all threats will be taken seriously and investigated fully and an arrest will be made when warranted.”
