I won £100k on People’s Postcode lottery… but would have got nothing without conversation with husband’s EX-WIFE
A WOMAN who won a sizeable £100,000 on the Postcode Lottery says she wouldn’t have won anything if she hadn’t spoken with her husband’s ex-wife.
Tracy Moulton, from Chesterfield, Derbyshire, signed up for the game after her husband Mark’s former wife pocketed £25,000 seven years ago in nearby Hollingwood.
Tracy and Mark were so excited about their win they were awake at 4am[/caption] The couple enjoy mountain biking and Mark intends on getting an upgrade to be able to keep up with his wife[/caption]Tracy also signed up for a second ticket two years ago when the mother-in-law of one of Mark’s daughters doubled her £30,000 prize to £60,000 with two tickets in Old Whittington, less than three miles away.
Now the communications support worker, who works with the deaf, has completed the family golden triangle with her £100,000 windfall.
Tracy – who shares seven children and two grandchildren with Mark – said: “We signed up primarily because Mark’s ex-wife won the lottery.
“Then two years ago the mother-in-law of one of Mark’s daughters won £60,000.
“She had never played and just bought two tickets and won right away in Old Whittington.
“We upped our tickets to two when she won.”
Mark, a digital print press operator and graphic designer, said: “They’re all within five miles of us.”
Tracy and Mark celebrated with 17 neighbours after S41 8QT bagged the weekly Millionaire Street prize.
Every ticket was worth £50,000, but as Tracy played with two tickets her prize money was boosted to £100,000.
The couple shared a kiss after being left gobsmacked when they pulled their cheque from their golden envelope.
An excited Tracy said: “Oh my God, thank you so much. We’ve been up since 4am this morning. We can’t even win on a tombola.
“Our lives have just changed totally in five minutes because we’ve won.
“I kept saying to everyone that I was saving myself for a big win. This is once-in-a-lifetime.”
Mark said: “We thought it would be nice if we won £30,000 and doubled it to £60,000.
“It is unbelievable how much we’ve won – amazing. We’ll be able to do so much.”
Now the couple are planning more mountain-biking adventures – once Mark upgrades to a top-of-the-range bicycle to match Tracy’s new E-bike. And new shoes for Tracy.
Tracy said: “I’ve got an E-bike that I bought this year. Mark’s always complaining that I leave him for dust when we go mountain biking.
Mark laughed: “I’ll be puffing and panting up hills and she just sails past me. My dream would be to get a Cannondale Moterra SL.”

Tracy said: “I’ll buy some new Doc Martens.”
Mark added: “You love your Doc Martens, don’t you sweetheart?”
And there might be a treat for Mark’s parents Ed and Kate Moulton.
Tracy said: “We’re going to look at taking them on holiday next year.”
Mark added: “Dad loves Corfu, but we’ll be looking at something a bit different.”
The pair had also chosen an unusual way to mark their win.
Tracy said: “We’ll celebrate with bacon butties and wine.”
She added: “It feels amazing winning with the neighbours.”
