'Moana 2' First-Day Ticket Preorders Breaks 2024 Record for Animated Movies

According to reporting by The Hollywood Reporter, Moana 2 had the strongest first-day sales for any animated movie in 2024. In fact, the only three movies to outperform it are Deadpool & Wolverine, Wicked and Dune: Part 2.
Moana grossed $687 million at the box office upon its release in 2016.
The trailer for the long-awaited sequel was viewed more than 178 million times within its first day of release, proving that anticipation is at an all-time high for the story to continue.
Fans are in luck as there is also a live-action adaptation in the works, and star Auli’l Cravalho seemingly alluded to even more plans for the future.
