FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Good Tuesday Evening,
It has been a near record warm day across the area today, with highs in the upper 70s to near the 102 year old record of 80°. Tonight will be a very warm night again, with lows only falling into the upper 50s overnight. Expect more sunshine, a more steady wind throughout the day in the teens, and highs near the record high of 80 again on Wednesday.
It will actually be windier and warmer overnight Wednesday into Thursday, with lows only in the lower 60s. While the record high temp for Thursday is safe (83° in 1950), it is possible we could break the record for the warmest low temperature for Halloween (record max low is 61° in 1919), as we will start near/just above this reading in the morning, and will be close to it by the end of the day.
Unfortunately for the kiddos, we are expecting probably our best chance of rain for the entire month of October to fall on Thursday late afternoon-evening with a cold front. This will keep winds up quite a bit, but will also make for very warm temps for the Trick or Treat hours. At this time it appears we will still be in the lower 70s as ToT starts, with a good chance of rain, and winds gusting out of the southwest into the 30s(mph). Temps will fall to the upper/mid 60s by the end of ToT with winds still quite breezy, and rain chances increasing. Not ideal, but not snowing.
Behind the front, skies will clear for Friday, with highs in the upper 50s, or normal for the start of November. Saturday will be a nice start to the weekend, and temps will be a few degrees above normal in the lower 60s. Saturday will be the latest sunrise of the entire year at 8:03am. Sunday we change our clocks back an hour, and a warm front will lift though on the longest day of the entire year.
This will lead to an isolated chance of showers late on Sunday with highs in the upper 60s. We will see chance of showers in the warm airmass on Monday with highs in the lower 70s. For Election Day Tuesday, expect partly sunny skies, breezy conditions, and very warm temps in the middle 70s.
