1 student dead after stabbing at Manor Senior High School
AUSTIN (KXAN) — A Manor Senior High School student was stabbed by another student, and subsequently died, officials said Tuesday.
A student is in police custody, Manor ISD said.
A call came into Austin-Travis County EMS around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of the stabbing at the high school, the agency said. Medics arrived on the scene and attempted life-saving efforts on the student but were unsuccessful. The student was pronounced dead on the scene, according to ATCEMS.
The district spokesperson said the stabbing happened after an altercation between two students.
The district said school closed early on Tuesday and classes are canceled for Wednesday at Manor Senior and Manor Early College High School.
No other details were released by the high school or the district Tuesday.
