Pittsfield collects food for annual Thankful Food Drive
PITTSFIELD, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Downtown Pittsfield is hosting the Third Annual Thankful Food Drive, which runs from Friday, Nov. 1, through Saturday, Nov. 30. Several local nonprofits and businesses are participating in the food drive as donation drop-off sites, including City Hall, the Berkshire Family YMCA, the Berkshire United Way, and more.
For the third year, the food drive will collect non-perishable items like canned foods, dry beans, low-sodium soups, canned meats, rice, peanut butter, pasta, and other non-perishables to benefit the South Community Food Pantry and St. Joseph's Church Food Pantry. Below is a list of all donation drop-off sites.
Along with the food drive, Framework is hosting a new art exhibition called Art of Food, where 10% or more of the proceeds from purchased art will benefit the Thankful Food Drive. Anyone who brings a donation to the exhibition's opening reception on Friday, Nov. 1, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. will receive a free gift.
