Joshua Uche Shares Instagram After Trade From Patriots To Chiefs
Joshua Uche’s Patriots tenure came to an end Monday.
Uche’s New England exit certainly was not a stunner. The 26-year-old’s name had been floated in trade rumors for a few weeks and he was a healthy scratch from the Patriots’ Week 8 win over the New York Jets.
And one day after Sunday’s divisional showdown at Gillette Stadium, New England traded Uche to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick. Uche took to Instagram not long after the deal was completed, sharing three photos coupled with the caption, “Thank you, NE.”
Uche signed a one-year deal with the Patriots over the offseason — a sign that he was hoping to stay in Foxboro, Mass. long term. It remains to be seen where the 2020 second-round pick will be taken in his NFL career, but he’s in a pretty great spot in the meantime. The two-time defending Super Bowl champions entered Week 9 as the league’s lone unbeaten team and Uche will have the opportunity to work with defensive mastermind Steve Spagnuolo.
The Michigan product potentially could make his Chiefs debut in primetime, as Kansas City on Monday night will welcome the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to Arrowhead Stadium for a Super Bowl LV rematch.
