Spanish theme park to open new £2.2million rollercoaster that goes over a lake – as well as two more swimming pools
A LESSER-KNOWN theme park in Spain is set to get a huge new multi-million-pound rollercoaster and two new swimming pools.
Spanish theme park Isla Mágica in Seville is already home to several rides, including an inverted coaster, a 4D cinema, a log flume ride and a splash ride.

The 25m-high rollercoaster has been named the Wooden Coaster, according to local Spanish newspaper Diario de Sevilla.
Wooden Coaster will be set over the theme park’s lake, with its track measuring nearly 600m in length.
It will be able to reach a top speed of 68km/h (42mph).
The wooden structure will be supported by a track of steel rails featuring a series of twists, turns, ascents and descents.
Slated to open in 2026, one year before the 30th anniversary of the theme park, Wooden Coaster is expected to cost €2.7 million (£2.2million) to build.
The new rollercoaster will be located in Aqua Magica, one of the themed zones in the park.
Two new swimming pools will be transformed into aquatic areas, featuring attractions and rest areas for visitors.
The pool areas will be surrounded by 600 sunbeds, which will hopefully put an end to any sunbed wars.
These new attractions will reduce the number of car parking spaces.
Until the new ride opens, there are plenty of other attractions at the theme park to keep visitors entertained.
Transporting park-goers back to 16th century Spain, Isla Magica is home to seven themed areas, including Seville, Puerto de Indias, Puerta de América, Amazonia, La Guarida de los Piratas, La Fuente de la Juventud, ElDorado and Aqua Magica.
One of the theme park’s most popular rides is Nao Vigía: The balloon of Seville.
The gigantic hot air balloon is tethered to the park by a steel cable that allows it to go up and down.
At its highest point, visitors will be taken up 150m into the clouds for stunning views across the theme park.
Other rides include La Flota Mercante (a water jet battle ride), Anaconda (a water rollercoaster) and Iguazú (a water raft ride).
Its water park – the Aqua Magica Zone – already has a wave pool and several water slides.
In addition to the rides, the theme park also hosts several themed shows throughout the year and has several on-site restaurants.
Isla Magica has a 3.5/5 star rating from more than 2,500 reviews on TripAdvisor, with one person writing: “an amazing day out”.
Another person added: “The attractions in the park were well maintained and queue times were minimal.”
A third person wrote: “The water park was good value for money, there was a variety of places the kids could safely play.”
Entry tickets into the park cost €24 (£20) for a full-paying adult and €14 for a child, with prices correct at the time of writing.
Isla Magica is located in Seville, making it easy for Brit holidaymakers to visit.
UK cities like London, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh all have direct flights to Seville.
