Watch as gaffe-prone Kamala Harris nearly touches razor-sharp silicone on factory tour in ‘moment straight out of Veep’
THIS is the awkward moment a gaffe-prone Kamala Harris almost touched razor-sharp silicone during a semiconductor factory tour in Michigan.
The vice president, 60, was asked to keep her hands away after she was allured by the “shiny” material in a moment that has been dubbed “Straight out of Veep”.

“Here is, actually, a harvested U-rod,” an employee said describing the shiny metalloid rod.
She then hovered her hand over it as she excitingly asked: “Can I touch it?”
A factory worker instantly alarmed Harris saying: “Do not touch it!”
“I’m glad I asked,” Harris replied.
The Democratic nominee then approached a plate of silicon crystal chunks, but before she could say a word, the employee warned: “Please do not touch any of the poly.”
“Those are very sharp,” another employee from the back added.
“OK … and shiny,” she said while keeping herself away from the display.
Social media users have now compared Harris’ gaffe during the factory tour to Selena Meyer – a fictional vice president on the hit HBO comedy show Veep.
Sharing a clip of Harris on the tour, former Republican National Committee communications specialist Steve Guest wrote on X: “This is straight out of Veep.”
While the Trump campaign took the opportunity to mock Harris.
“She’s totally helpless,” the Trump War Room X account posted.
“Like walking around with a 3-year-old,” another social media user argued.
It comes after Harris was caught on a hot mic making a damning admission about her campaign just days before the election.
The Vice President revealed the biggest failure in her race to The White House during a trip to a bar with Michigan’s governor Gretchen Whitmer.
Harris and Whitmer seemed to forget they were surrounded by cameras and microphones as the pair picked up beers at a bar in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on Saturday.
The Vice President was caught on camera revealing her campaign had to do more work to win over male voters, during the campaign stop.
“So my thing is we need to move ground among men,” Harris told Whitmer.
The Vice President then appeared to look up and back at the group of reporters and visitors at the Trak Houz Bar and Grill.
“Oh we have microphones in here just listening to everything,” Harris said to the cameras.
“I didn’t realize that.”
“OK. So now you’ll tell us,” Harris added.
The duo laughed at the incident and seemed relaxed by the mishap.
“You’ll bleep my F words,” Whitmer joked.
“We just told all the family secrets. S**t,” Harris added.
Her concern was warranted as she has consistently fallen behind Donald Trump in the male polls.
SILENT CROWD
This bar scene has not been the only embarrassing moment Harris has recently faced in her campaign, The U.S. Sun has previously reported.
The Vice President’s attempt to fire up her voters at a rally in Ann Arbor, Michigan, fell flat.
Her fans started to chant “Ka-ma-la, Ka-ma-la, Ka-ma-la” during the rally.
Harris then tried to flip the chants back to her crowd and asked her supporters to yell their own names instead of hers.
“Now I want each of you to shout your own name. Do that,” Harris said.
“Because it’s about all of us,” she laughed.
The loud chants quickly turned into awkward murmurs as the attendees became confused.
Harris was quick to recover and laughed off the bizarre moment.
Both Harris and Trump made appearances in the Midwestern state this weekend.
Michigan has become a key battleground and contentious swing state that both parties are fighting to win.
President Joe Biden won Michigan by a narrow 2.78% in the 2020 election.
