Tinned tuna sold in Europe contaminated with dangerous levels of mercury, NGOs say
Tuna sold in cans in stores across Europe including the UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain contain harmful levels of mercury, environmental groups said Tuesday. In a test conducted by the NGO Bloom, more of half of the sampled tinned tuna was contaminated with levels of mercury higher than the 0.3 milligrams per kilogramme limit allowed in other fish.
