New methods to be used to find missing remains
Scientists will arrive in Cyprus to investigate new methods to help with finding the remains of missing people.
The two scientists will come from Wisconsin Eau Claire university. They will use methods including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT).
According to the Committee on Missing Persons (CMP), research will be carried out in four different locations, one in the Republic and three in the north.
In the Republic, the search will be in Aglandjia-Geri near the University of Cyprus and in the north in Trahonas, Ayia Irene in Kyrenia, and in Assia.
An excavation in Assia in the past found human remains, while the new research is expected to find the remains of up to five people.
Researchers from the same university were in Cyprus in September to excavate for remains.
