10/29/2024: Warming way up!
The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
A warm front on the way will bring clouds and evening showers... but temperatures will soar to record levels in its wake!
Warming from the 30's and 40's this morning to the upper 50's this afternoon, even with more and more cloud cover as the day goes on. Showers will roll in from the west from the mid afternoon and into the evening.
Showers clear our area by midnight, but clouds and shifting winds keep us much warmer overnight. By Wednesday morning, we'll only be down into the 40's or around 50 in the core of the Capital District.
Tomorrow, we soar into the mid 70's for most of our area. Aside from the unseasonable warmth, it's a quiet weather day with sun and light winds.
Halloween is even warmer if you can believe it! Afternoon highs will peak in the upper 70's, breaking the old record for the day (75 degrees back in 2019). There will be clouds and showers approaching in the evening, but rain will likely hold off until after midnight and into the first part of Friday.
That day looks windy and a bit cooler, with temperature falling dramatically into Saturday and Sunday. Lows will be in the 30's, with highs in the 50's over the weekend. Don't forget about the time change early Sunday morning! Clouds and chance showers are back in the mix for Monday.
