Agbonlahor admits he is changing his mind about one Spurs star
Gabby Agbonlahor reveals that one Tottenham player he was extremely critical of last season has been ‘outstanding’ so far this campaign.
Tottenham man has come of age
Dejan Kulusevski was a frustrating player to watch over the last couple of years as the Swede struggled to consistently produce the goods despite being capable of moments of real quality.
That has now changed, with the 24-year-old delivering outstanding displays week-in, week-out. He is winning plenty of admirers along the way too!
Looking back, it is funny to think that the Swede was actually left out of Tottenham’s starting eleven for their Premier League season opener against Leicester City, as many would now consider him to be one of the first names on Ange Postecoglou’s teamsheet.
Agbonlahor’s admission about Kulusevski
Agbonlahor has now become the latest pundit to rave about the former Juventus man, admitting that he has come into his own after being the freedom to drift around the field.
The former Aston Villa striker told talkSPORT about Kulusevski: “I thought he was outstanding, he has been in recent weeks. He has been that player who has enjoyed not playing off the wing, being able to drift into the wing, playing in that number 10 position.
“And the way he took his goal when Spurs needed him because they were a goal down. He cuts in and smashes one in off the post, both posts in fact. And just his all-round game, to be honest.
“He was making things happen, he was driving forward and I really think he has been at his best this season. So, Kulusevski, who I did criticise last season, has started this season in fine form.”
Kulusevski’s unique combination of skills
It is difficult to compare Kulusevski to any other player as his combination of skills are unique, which is what makes him so versatile.
Not only is he a machine who can run for days and a monster physically but he always has a clear picture of what is around him and is nimble on his feet for someone so big. He also has the kind of cultured left foot and balance that one would associate with diminutive playmakers.
He is an absolute nightmare to play against when given the freedom to drift across the pitch and pick up the ball in different areas.
