£13m Tottenham target is expected to be on the move in January
Tottenham Hotspur receive a boost in their pursuit of a pacy winger from South America, with the Lilywhites looking set to be involved in a transfer battle in 2025.
Argentine starlet now in sights of European clubs
The player in question is Kevin Zenon, who is turning a lot of heads with his performances for Boca Juniors this season.
It looks like the winger might be the next big export from the Argentine giants to European football, with a number of top clubs from the continent said to have their eye on him.
This claim was made last week by O Jogo, who revealed that a few sides sense an opportunity in January, given that the 21-year-old has a £13m release clause in his Boca contract.
Tottenham receive a boost
TBR Football now reveal that Tottenham are among a growing list of Zenon’s admirers, with several Premier League sides scouting the youngster over recent months.
The report says that even though the Argentina Under-21 international has emerged as a permanent fixture in Fernando Gago’s line-up this season, Boca expect him to lose him in January.
However, it is not at all clear at the moment where Zenon will end up. The likes of Napoli, Atalanta, Lyon, Sporting Lisbon, Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, Newcastle, Man United, Fulham and Everton are also named among his admirers.
Do Tottenham need Zenon?
While the feeling during the summer might have been that Spurs are well stocked in the wide areas, that has now changed.
With Dejan Kulusevski being permanently moved to the number eight role, Ange Postecoglou might want another exciting, direct winger to his squad and Zenon may fit the bill.
However, the Spurs boss will have to consider how the Argentine’s signing would affect Mikey Moore’s development, with the Tottenham academy graduate looking ready to play on the big stage.
