Portland Halloweekend guide: Candy and Wine Pairing, Kid’s Monster Fest and more
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — When Halloween falls during the week, the weekend before is always packed with spooky activities.
Celebrate the holiday early with these seven events occurring through Sunday.
’90s Halloween Costume Glow Ball
When: Friday, Oct. 25 at 9 p.m.
Where: McMenamins Crystal Ballroom, 1332 W Burnside St, Portland, OR 97209
The Crystal Ballroom’s annual ’90s Halloween Costume Glow Ball sold out the past two years, so interested party-goers are advised to purchase their tickets early. The venue will play ‘90s music videos throughout the night as attendees dress as their favorite stars and characters.
Trick or Drink Portland Halloween Bar Crawl
When: Friday, Oct. 25 from 6 p.m. – 2 a.m. and Saturday, Oct. 26 from 4 p.m. – 2 a.m.
Where: Multiple locations
Eight Old Town watering holes are offering drink specials in a Halloween-themed bar crawl organized by Barcrawlerz. Participants will begin the crawl by picking up $20 wristbands at Hallway PDX.
Halloween Candy and Wine Pairing
When: Friday, Oct. 25 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Portland’s oldest urban winery is pairing an assortment of five candies with five different wines. Attendees will also taste a sample of the seasonal Witches Brew Sangria. Guests are encouraged to wear costumes.
Creo’s Hallo-versary
When: Saturday, Oct. 26 from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: 629 NW 23rd Ave, Portland, OR 97210
This award-winning chocolatier is celebrating its first year at its second location in the Pearl District. The celebration will feature whiskey, wine and chocolate tastings.
Halloween Mayhem at the Midnight
When: Saturday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m.
Where: The Midnight, 3341 SE Belmont St, Portland, OR 97214
The Midnight’s Halloween party includes cover bands, drink specials, performances from cover bands, DJs and a costume contest. Tickets for the 21+ event at the cocktail bar and concert venue cost $13.
Boo Cruise
When: Saturday, Oct. 26 from 9:30 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Where: Salmon Springs Dock, 1010 SW Naito Pkwy, Portland, OR 97204
Portland Spirit’s 21+ Halloween party is a two-hour cruise on the Willamette River, complete with a DJ and dancing. “Fun, flirty or frightening, come aboard in your best costume and join the costume contest with plenty of prizes, including cruise vouchers and hotel stays,” organizers said.
Kid’s Monster Fest
When: Sunday, Oct. 27 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: 300 N Ramsay Way, Portland, OR 97227
This family-friendly version of Underhill Haunted House is catered to “children below ten… and scaredy cats of all ages!” Instead of scaring attendees, the ghouls in Kid’s Monster Fest run away from them. Young participants will receive a magic wand for the event.
