Mark Lawrenson predicts Crystal Palace vs Tottenham score
Mark Lawrenson has predicted the result of Sunday’s clash between Crystal Palace and Tottenham, and it is good news for travelling Spurs fans.
An easy fixture on paper
Tottenham should fancy themselves to emerge with three points from Selhurst Park, given Crystal Palace’s horrendous form at the start of the season. The Eagles still have not won a single Premier League game so far this campaign.
However, rather than being encouraged by that fact, a lot of Spurs fans will fear that it would be typical of “Dr. Tottenham” to allow Oliver Glasner’s men will get their first win on the board.
Mark Lawrenson’s prediction
Lawrenson admitted that he cannot predict with any sort of confidence how Spurs will fare when they play away from home this season.
However, given the South London club’s struggles in front of goal, he suggested that the Lilywhites will simply have too much for the home side though.
The pundit told Paddy Power: “Anything can happen with Tottenham away from home. Other than throwing it away against Brighton the other week they’re actually on a good run but Crystal Palace just aren’t scoring enough.”
Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-3 Tottenham.
A big opportunity for Ange Postecoglou’s men
Tottenham have a massive opportunity to get another win on board and put themselves firmly in the conversation for Champions League qualification.
In fact, with Arsenal hosting Liverpool this weekend, Spurs could potentially find themselves just a point off the Gunners if they manage to beat Palace.
However, failing to get three points at Selhurst Park following their previous away showing at the Amex Stadium will pile the pressure back on Postecoglou.
