‘Hop off that poller-coaster’: Dem downplays new poll — and reveals what he is watching
A new Wall Street Journal poll showing Kamala Harris’ favorability numbers dropping from August – and dipping below Donald Trump’s – is one of many polls being thrown “out the window” by the vice president’s campaign, CNN contributor Bakari Sellers said Thursday.
“I’ve talked to people on the Kamala Harris campaign and one of the things that we've done is hopped off the poller-coaster a long time ago, we've kind of thrown these polls…out the window,” Sellers said on CNN’s “OutFront” with anchor Erin Burnett.
He downplayed the poll – even as Burnett described it as “a gold standard poll” – as one of a number of random polls being dumped into the public sphere.
“But this is the Wall Street Journal poll,” Burnett said pushing back on Sellers.

“This is the Wall Street Journal, Bakari!” CNN contributor and Republican David Urban said.
According to the poll, 53% of registered voters have an unfavorable view of Harris, up 4 points from August. The new polling data places Harris’ unfavourability rating below Trump’s by 3 points.
“But nobody is watching that because people started voting three weeks ago,” Sellers insisted. “I mean that's why this conversation is fascinating because you know what we are watching? We’re watching early voting, we’re watching trends around the country, particularly in these seven states.”
He later said “I get it” about the various polls, but added: “That’s not where the campaign is and I encourage people to hop off of that poller-coaster. I don’t really have an answer to the question because what I am watching is the early vote in Pennsylvania.”
“We can talk about polls but for me votes count, votes matter,” he said.
