Lakers unveil beautiful new NBA Cup court
Similar to last year, the Lakers will have a specific court they will use exclusively for NBA Emirates Cup games and with recent upgrades, it’s even better.
The NBA Emirates Cup will begin this November and similar to last season, the Lakers will have an alternate home court to play on for this in-season competition.
The Lakers were drawn into Group B for the NBA Cup along with the Oklahoma City, Phoenix Suns, Thunder, Utah Jazz and the San Antonio Spurs. The league has already announced the schedule for the group stage with the Lakers starting action on Nov. 15 against the Spurs.
On Thursday, the Lakers revealed the new court for these games and showed the design on their Twitter/X account.

The court looks similar to last year’s design but has some notable differences.
The Los Angeles skyline will be featured on the floor as part of the backdrop and now all titles are labeled with a star on the side of the court. Yellow is still the primary color, but the purple on the side is nice.
Compared to the previous design, this looks like a modest upgrade. It serves its purpose of hyping up the game while adding something to differentiate it from the rest of the regular season matchups.
Last year, the Lakers found massive success with the In-Season Tournament, now renamed the NBA Emirates Cup, dominating in Las Vegas and winning it all.
Hopefully, the court will be new, but the success will be the same.
We already know JJ Redick is a fan of the competition and given how much of a basketball sicko he is, you can be sure he’ll have the Lakers ready to compete for the cup this November.
Fans will be able to see the court in person for the first time on Tuesday, Nov. 19, when the Lakers take on the Utah Jazz.
