The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thursday 24th October) Leeds complete Guilavogui deal
Good Morning. It's Thursday 24th October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road...
Leeds complete Guilavogui deal
Leeds have announced the signing of French midfielder Josuha Guilavogui, after passing a medical at Thorp Arch yesterday afternoon. Guilavogui has showcased his talent in both Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga, notably, at Wolfsburg where he spent nine seasons, featuring in over 200 games, and eventually taking on the role of club captain.
Predominantly, he plays as a defensive midfielder, but can also fill in at centre-back if needed. His short term deal will take him to the end of the season where it will be reviewed! Guilavogui hasn't played competitively since last season, but Daniel Farke has been impressed with both his competency and work rate during his week long trial.
I will be back - Ramazani
Largie Ramazani will miss Saturdays trip to Bristol City after rolling his ankle during the 2-1 midweek win against Watford. The 23yo managed an eventful 14 minutes of game time before hobbling off in obvious discomfort. His speculative edge of the area strike after just 120 seconds, had put the Whites ahead after catching Daniel Bachmann on the hop. This was his third goal of the campaign in just 436 minutes of game time.
Manor Solomon was bought on as a like for like replacement, though Farke admitted in his post match presser that he would have preferred more of a cameo appearance (for Solomon) so soon after returning from injury. The Israeli International was understandably a little ring rusty, and was widely criticised on social media as being sub-par.
Yesterday, Ramazani took to his Instagram account defiantly claiming 'I will be back'. The statement more or less guarantees a spell on the side-lines, and with the trip to Bristol City looming, is Solomon ready to start?
Firpo banned for Bristol City clash
Junior Firpo will miss the trip to Ashton gate after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Watford on Tuesday evening. The 28 year old is becoming some what of a cult figure at Elland Road after defying the boo boys, and finally coming good. His forward play down the left flank has earnt him rave reviews on social media, and caught the eye of several top European clubs.
Daniel Farke must decide whether to give Isaac Schmidt his first start of the season, or rely on the experience of Sam Byram. Schmidt has only played nine minutes of game time since signing from St Gallen on transfer deadline day nearly two months ago.
