A WOMAN has shared the ‘genius’ laundry hack she swears by that gets all her loads dry without using a tumble dryer.
So if you’re on a budget and are looking to cut costs this winter, fear not, you’ve come to the right place.
Not only this, but if you’ve got a small home and don’t fancy having clothes airers in every single room, this is just the thing for you.
A savvy woman named Maria Parsons took to social media to share how she gets her washing dry in winter, leaving many open-mouthed.
Posting on Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It, a private Facebook group with 231,200 members, Maria explained that her husband made her a handy clothes airer, attached to her ceiling, so that she can dry her laundry over the stairs, without it getting in the way.
Thrilled with her DIY airer, she wrote: “If anyone else has unwanted space above the stairs, my advice is, utilise it.
“This has saved me hundreds of pounds this winter and I haven’t even touched my tumble dryer.
“My design, but my husband made it. It still needs painting when we get a nice day, and it can be detached easily.
“It’s been bespoke made to my height, 5ft 1, as I do most of the washing.”
And thanks to its size, Maria can do multiple loads of washing and get them dry at once, as she added: “I can fit around six loads of normal washing on this if I use coat hangers on either side of the wood for t-shirts and hoodies and then just the lines for trousers and shorts.
“Six adults in my house so, as you can imagine, the amount of washing is crazy!
“Also, no more clothes airers around the house.”

But social media users were left divided with her laundry hack – whilst some thought it was ‘genius’, others hailed it an ‘eyesore’.
