'Chilling': CNN analysts stunned by ex-Trump aide's 'extraordinary' warning to Americans
Calling Tuesday night a “very sobering moment” in light of former Marine General John Kelly speaking out about the dangers a second Donald Trump presidency poses to the country, two political analysts used their airtime on CNN to praise Kelly – and further warn about Trump.
“The worst thing that Kamala Harris could do, maybe bad tax policy. We may not have a Constitution by the time that someone like this is president with no guardrails,” former Obama White House official Van Jones said Tuesday night on CNN’s “AC360” with Anderson Cooper. He told the host that the steps Trump would take if allowed to return to the Oval Office are “beyond our ability to comprehend.”
“So, if at this point you are at home and you're trying to figure out, 'What should I do?' Tonight should give you real pause,” Jones said, adding that after the Supreme Court’s immunity ruling, Trump would essentially be a “lawless president with no regard for our Constitution and people.”

“The joint chiefs of staff, the former chief of staff to the White House, are screaming and yelling, saying, ‘My God, do not vote for this man.’ That should matter to people tonight.”
CNN political analyst Ana Navarro said she knew Kelly and his wife “very well,” having spent time with them in social circles in Florida. She described hearing Kelly, Trump’s longest-serving former chief of staff, warn voters about his former boss as “chilling.”
“Because it's an extraordinary step for John Kelly to take 14 days before the election, trying to warn the American people. Look, the gravitas that John Kelly has. The commitment to duty, the dedication to chain of command. This is not something he does lightly,” Navarro said.
She concluded the segment on Cooper’s Tuesday night show by appealing to “those Republicans who say they have the greatest respect for the military,” and who “say they are for law and order.”
"They’d better heed John Kelly’s words," she said.
