#ReliefPH: How to help communities affected by Tropical Storm Kristine
MANILA, Philippines – Heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Kristine (Trami) has brought flooding to parts of Luzon and the Visayas since Tuesday, October 22.
In the Bicol region especially, extensive flooding has overwhelmed rescue teams, with the Naga City government calling on the national government and the private sector to lend trucks for rescue operations.
Tropical Storm Kristine is still expected to gradually intensify into a severe tropical storm.
Several organizations have already set up relief initiatives and donation drives to help communities affected by Kristine. Here is a running list of relief initiatives you can support to help affected communities:
ACT NCR Union
ACT NCR Union is accepting monetary and in-kind donations to augment their relief efforts for affected families in Luzon and other parts of the country.
Amihan Women
Amihan National Federation of Peasant Women, Amihan Bikol, and Rural Women Advocates, in partnership with Sagip Kanayunan, are calling for monetary donations to help affected farmers and fisherfolk in Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, and Camarines Sur.
Ateneo de Naga University
Ateneo de Naga University accepts monetary donations for those affected.
CSSGives Philippines
CSSGives Philippines has launched an emergency donation drive to help communities affected by #KristinePH in Bicol.
For our Farmers PH, Inc.
For Our Farmers PH reopened its “Project Sagip” donation lines to assist affected communities.
iLab ARAL
iLab ARAL is accepting cash and in-kind donations for those affected in Camarines Sur.
JCI Iriga
JCI Iriga is accepting monetary and in-kind donations to help those affected.
Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership
Kaya Natin! Movement and the Jesse M. Robredo Foundation are seeking cash donations to assist affected Naga City residents.
Oragon UPB
Oragon UPB has launched its “Tabang Oragon” donation drive to help the families of affected UP Baguio Bicolano students.
Redemptorist Legazpi
Redemptorist Legazpi is accepting donations to provide immediate relief and long-term assistance to affected communities. The donations will be used to help supply essential resources such as food, clean water, medical care, and shelter.
Tanging Yaman Foundation
Tanging Yaman Foundation is accepting donations to help affected communities in Bicol and other areas.
Tulong Kabataan
Tulong Kabataan PH, through its local center Tulong Kabataan-Bicol, is seeking monetary donations to support relief and evacuation efforts for those affected in Bicol. The donations will be used so they can reach more communities and continue their efforts.
UP Harong
The University of the Philippines Harong is accepting monetary donations for its “Sugpon Camarines Sur Program” drive to help those affected in Camarines Sur.
Youth Advocates for Climate Action Philippines
Youth Advocates for Climate Action Philippines and its partner organizations are calling for donations to provide immediate relief such as hot meals for affected communities.
Youth Ambassadors of Albay
The Youth Ambassadors of Albay is accepting monetary and in-kind donations for its “Tindog Albayano” drive to help those affected in the province.
