Tottenham learn how much they will have to pay for Patrick Dorgu
Tottenham Hotspur have now learned how much they will have to spend to land Patrick Dorgu from Lecce in 2025.
Patrick Dorgu is on the market despite contract extension
Even though Dorgu recently put pen to paper on a new deal at Lecce, it has been widely reported over recent weeks that the left-back’s future is very much up in the air.
A move to the Premier League has been mooted as a possibility for the defender, with a number of outlets suggesting over the last few days that Tottenham and Chelsea are both on the 19-year-old’s trail (FiorentinaNews).
How much would Tottenham have to pay?
The same information has now been carried by The Mirror, who claim that both the Spurs and the Blues are now plotting moves for Dorgu ahead of the January window.
They suggest that the Lilywhites are on the lookout for cover for Destiny Udogie at left-back and with Ben Davies now into the final six months of his deal, they have identified the Denmark international as a good fit for the role.
It is pointed out that having tied Dorgu down to a new contract recently, Lecce will demand a big fee for the teenager. The report suggests that it might need an offer of over £30m to prise the defender away from the Italian club.
Potential advantage for Chelsea
The Mirror also reiterate what we have already heard from other sources by stating that as things stand, it is Tottenham who are at the front of the queue to win the race for Dorgu.
However, the publication reveals that the wing-back is a self-confessed Chelsea supporter, which might potentially give the West London club an advantage over their local rivals in the transfer battle.
Find out why we believe Tottenham should move for Dorgu as soon as the window opens.
