WELCOME, KOREDE DAVID!
Raith Rovers Football Club is thrilled to announce the signing of dynamic striker Korede (Cody) David on a short-term deal until January, subject to receiving international clearance.
Cody commented, “I’m really looking forward to seeing what the next couple months hold. I’ve heard a lot about the club and knew it was somewhere that I wanted to be at. This week, I’ve got to see how good the club is for myself and I’m excited to play my first game and get going.“
Neill Collins added, “We are delighted to add Korede to the squad. After Lewis’ injury we felt a striker was a position that we were a little short and I believe Korede has the qualities to supplement the players we have in that area. Korede brings some real power and pace in that position along with a fantastic left foot.“
Cody brings exciting pace, attacking flair, and a wealth of experience from across multiple levels of professional football in the UK.
Cody, a 23-year-old Nigerian forward, began his football journey with Premier League giants Everton at just 10 years old.
Over his time with the Toffees, Cody developed into a standout performer for the U18s, scoring an impressive 11 goals in 17 matches during the 2018/19 season.
He also etched his name into Everton’s youth history with a four-goal haul in a dominant win over Newcastle United in the U18 Premier League.
Following his time at Everton, Cody’s professional career took him to Sheffield Wednesday and a brief loan spell at Hamilton Academical.
While injury challenges hampered his early progress, his perseverance saw him make senior appearances, including his professional debut in the EFL Trophy against Newcastle United U21s.
Most recently, Cody spent two seasons at Accrington Stanley, making over 50 appearances and contributing to their attacking play with his speed and technical ability.
After leaving Accrington at the end of the 2023/24 season, we’re excited to now welcome him to Raith Rovers.
Cody’s experience across different levels of English football, combined with his hunger to prove himself again, makes him a valuable asset as we aim to build on our current campaign.
Welcome to Kirkcaldy, Cody!
