Washington Spirit’s Casey Krueger and Hal Hershfelt Called Up to U.S. Women’s National Team
Spirit duo to join USWNT for October friendlies against Iceland, Argentina
Washington, D.C. (10/17/2024) – Washington Spirit defender Casey Krueger and midfielder Hal Hershfelt have been called up to the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) for the side’s October friendlies, U.S. Soccer announced today.
Both Krueger and Hershfelt were part of the USWNT’s 2024 Olympic team that won gold in Paris. Krueger won her second Olympic medal with the team after taking bronze in Tokyo in 2021, while Hershfelt served as an alternate, training with the team throughout the tournament. Krueger enters October camp with 55 appearances and five assists for the senior team while Hershfelt has yet to play in her first match for the side.
The USWNT’s October Friendly Schedule:
• vs Iceland | Thursday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m. EDT (Q2 Stadium, Austin)
• vs Iceland | Sunday, October 27 at 5:30 p.m. EDT (Geodis Park, Nashville)
• vs Argentina | Wednesday, October 30 at 7 p.m. EDT (Lynn Family Stadium, Louisville)
