OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The Oklahoma Breast Center is highlighting Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the launch of its High-Risk Program, designed for patients at an elevated risk of breast cancer.
The new program is set to come into compliance with the new FDA regulations that require imaging centers to provide breast density assessments in mammogram reports allowing for more informed healthcare decisions and understand their risk, says Oklahoma Beast Center officials.
"Breast density is a key factor in breast cancer detection and risk. With the new regulations and our High-Risk Program, we are equipped to give patients a thorough risk assessment and tailored care plans, including additional screenings and genetic counseling."

The High-Risk Program seeks to identify patients at increased risk due to personal, family history, genetics, or breast density with personalized recommendations including consultations with Jeneice Miller, an expert in managing high-risk patients.
Alongside highlighting awareness the announcement also welcomed Barbara Mortellaro as its new Patient Navigator, providing a critical resource for patients during the journey of navigating care.
As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Oklahoma Breast Center encourages women to schedule a mammogram during their birth month or another time that can serve as an annual reminder.
