Simon Cowell Postpones 'Britain's Got Talent' Auditions After Liam Payne's Death
Simon Cowell is postponing production on the upcoming season of Britain’s Got Talent following the tragic death of Liam Payne.
The TV boss paused auditions Thursday (October 17) following the death of the boy band and solo star, who was part of One Direction, the group first launched by Simon on The X Factor.
A spokesperson for Fremantle UK said, via BBC‘s Pete Allison: “Due to the tragic passing of Liam Payne, we have decided to postpone the Britain’s Got Talent auditions. Our thoughts are with Liam’s friends, family and all who loved him.”

ApplauseStore, which manages tickets for the show, wrote that auditions in Blackpool had been postponed due to “the tragic passing of Liam Payne,” adding: “We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause,” via Deadline.
Ant and Dec, who host Britain’s Got Talent, were pictured leaving a hotel in Lancashire where the show was supposed to be filmed.
Simon created both Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor.
