Mujahid announces production of Urban Buses in Afghanistan
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman for the Taliban administration, has announced the production of a new bus for urban services in Afghanistan.
On Thursday, October 17, Mr Mujahid wrote on the social media platform X that this bus is an Indigenous product of Afghanistan and that the inauguration ceremony will be held soon.
He did not mention the manufacturing company’s name, and the bus’s specifications have not been detailed.
In a picture shared by Mr. Mujahid, a bus with a simple design can be seen, which lacks any special features and is intended for urban services.
The Taliban spokesman did not provide details regarding procuring equipment and parts for the new bus.
The shortage of urban buses for transportation is one of the significant challenges citizens face, particularly in Kabul, which has a larger population.
Afghanistan is confronting significant barriers to industrialization, including a lack of electricity and factories for developing manufacturing parts.
These challenges, compounded by a dire humanitarian crisis, pose major obstacles to sustainable development and investment in the country. Without addressing these fundamental issues, achieving security and fostering economic growth will remain challenging, hindering progress and stability in the region.
