Technopolis 20 celebrates 10 years with renowned jazz trio
Proud to celebrate a decade of continuous cultural presence in Paphos, Technopolis will celebrate this milestone with a concert on Thursday at Markideio Theatre. The renowned jazz trio Human Touch – Stavros Lantsias, Yiotis Kiourtsoglou and David Lynch – will perfect a selection of pieces from their 25-year collaboration, as well as new works from their upcoming album.
Thursday’s concert is one of many that Technopolis 20 has organised in Paphos over the past ten years. Since 2014, when it first launched, it has hosted over 700 events – from music and cinema to theatre, dance and literature. Its success could be based on its selection and dedication to offering high-quality cultural and artistic products but also fostering collaborations to strengthen and extend its mission.
So far it has partnered with both Cypriot and international artists as well as leading cultural organisations including the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, ARTos Foundation, Goethe Institut, the Austrian and Irish embassies and International Short Film Festival Oberhausen.
“Technopolis 20 celebrates ten years of continuous cultural presence in Paphos, marking a major milestone in its artistic journey. Since 2014, we have hosted more than 700 events, embracing all forms of art – from music and cinema to theatre, dance, and literature. Through challenges and achievements, our passion for the arts and commitment to offering unique cultural experiences to the public has remained constant.
“Our venue has become a key gathering place for the local arts scene and a bridge that connects Paphos to the global artistic community,” says Technopolis 20. “Our journey began with a vision: to create a space that promotes cultural expression and brings diverse audiences together. Today, we look back on countless unforgettable moments shared with our community, from intimate art exhibitions and family events to large concerts and external productions.”
The Paphos cultural centre’s achievements have been many; the Technopolis 20 Classics concert series, the jazz concert series and hosting the Paphos International Film Festival for nine years.
“As we enter our second decade, we recognise the importance of institutional sponsorships in shaping our future. We are committed to establishing strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, as these collaborations will be instrumental in expanding our programmes and enhancing the cultural landscape for the benefit of both the local and wider community. Looking forward, we remain dedicated to evolving Technopolis 20 as a venue where art, creativity and community intersect.”
