Junky Saturday morning
Hello Friends,
A gloomy start to Saturday with grey skies and 20-30 kts of south wind smashing up the 3 metre, 8-second period S by SSW swell. The only people in the water were the hardy competitors in the corner at Dee Why (see above). I’m calling it miss-able.
From the look of the swell and weather models, there should be wave energy around but onshore winds are going to be making a mess of it again tomorrow and then maybe on Monday they’ll be more helpful, but the swell energy looks like fading. After that it seems we’re maybe in for another south pulse starting Tuesday and peaking Wednesday – but with onshore wind again until around Thursday. FWIW, the back half of the coming week is looking hopeful on some of the modelling…

A strong and gusty southerly change is moving along the northern waters during today. Winds are forecast to ease and turn northerly on Sunday as a high pressure system reaches the Tasman Sea. On Monday a cold front or trough may bring a south to southeasterly change to the southern waters.
