Rutgers adds three-star guard Kaden Powers
By SAM LANCE
Kaden Powers, a three-star shooting guard from the 2025 class, has committed to Rutgers. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound guard from Rainier Beach (WA) and the NW Rotary Rebels AAU program — announced the decision Friday.
The guard was one of the most prolific shot makers in the EYBL this past summer, knocking down 77 total jump shots. During Peach Jam playing in the PIT, Powers averaged 16.8 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. He shot 43.2% from the field and 25-of-53 (47.2%) from beyond the arc.
“Kaden a great person, quiet but if you really know him he really funny guy,” his AAU teammate Legend Smiley told ZAGSBLOG. “Proud of KP, he worked his way back and now is about to commit to a DI when a lot of people counted him out. See you at the top family, keep going!”
Rutgers now have three commits in the 2025 class with Powers, four-star guard Lino Mark and four-star power forward Gevonte Ware. Head coach Steve Pikiell is continuing to recruit well after landing two five-star prospects last cycle in Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey.
