Soccer Team Wins on the Road
SPRINGFIELD, MO – October 25, 2016 – The Calvary University Soccer Team (2-8-0, 1-6-0 MCCC) won a grueling match against Baptist Bible College on Tuesday, by a final score of 2-1, snapping a five game losing streak and earning their second win of the season.
The Warriors started the game with fury, producing a Mark Rodenberg Goal off an assist by Kameron Wiebe in the 4th minute. The rest of the first half and most of the second half remained relatively balanced with no team scoring, until BBC was able to get a goal in the 75th minute, tying the game at 1-1. The Warriors sealed the win in the 86th minute with a goal from Kameron Wiebe off an assist by Sam Her.
“This was a very good team win for us today, praise the Lord” said head coach Daniel Nichols. “We only had 11 players, but each one stepped up in a big way. It sure was great to see our team start out the game with a lot of intensity and then respond well after we got scored on. I am very encouraged with the progress that we have made as a team and I look forward to seeing how we finish out the season this weekend.”
The Warriors last game of the season will be this Saturday, October 29 against Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa. In their last meeting, Calvary lost to Emmaus at home, by a final score of 4-1.
